We have a Village hall, run by a committee, where social events, plays and meeting are held.
A Shopping Precinct has a chiropractor, two estate agents, hairdressers, solicitors, butchers, greengrocers, ironmongers, newsagents, two Take-Aways and a Spar supermarket. A post office, chemist and Library, to which the Police Contact Point is annexed, is nearby.
The Leisure centre is run by the Parish Council with two sports halls, bowling green, tennis courts, ball court and football pitches providing sports facilities for all.

The committee of volunteers comprises up to 12 members who meet monthly to consider various topics and discuss crime figures, in particular those that occurred in the Village the preceding month; these are supplied by our Police Beat Manager who attends meetings when duties allow
Each Member of the committee act as area co-ordinators and have between 6 and 16 street co-ordinators in their patch who in turn care for an average of 12 neighbours To date over 70% of Ravenshead homes are covered by a street co-ordinator.
Messages concerning crime prevention and awareness are sent from Rushcliffe Community Watch which is run by the Police via their ringmaster system, weekly area crime details from the Crime Reduction Manager and Locally Generated Messages (LGM) through our own system. All messages are distributed to RNW members by e-mail, by hand or by telephone for those without a computer.
The Annual General Meeting, to which all residents are welcome, is held in the Village Hall each April when a guest speaker is usually invited. The street co-ordinators do not have to attend meetings but if a particular problem occurs they may address the committee at the next available meeting.
There is no fee for joining the scheme, funding is provided by the Parish Council and from donations at community events that are held during the year.
